The Interman Talented DC artist Jeff Parker's epic color graphic novel has an international adventurer gifted with supreme adaptability. It reminds me of some of the best European artists, like Pellejero. Check out the preview!
Wigu Like this guy needs my help: I stumbled recently across this on-line strip, with the help of metasite memepool.com. It's funny, unpredictable and something of an Internet phenomena. Who knew?
Argon Zark Charley Parker's lighthearted s-f odyssey is the first comic of any merit made for the web. Years later, it's still going strong.
Punch Line Visit San Francisco's great comedy club. Brilliant comics I've seen there: Dave Attell, Doug Stanhope, Patton Oswalt, Sean Rouse.
LCD Sick, sick scatological humor and satire from the Mozart of comics, Kieron "Sued by Starbucks" Dwyer. Kids and bluenoses, stay away! See the great links page. Kieron is doing Last of Independents for AIT/planetLar.
Astronauts in Trouble AIT/PlanetLar published Doll and Creature. AIT honcho Larry Young and I did Double Image:The Bod for Image in 2001.
Rick Remender Avengers and TMNT artist Rick Remender created robot-headed skate punk Black Heart Billy as well as Captain Dingleberry. Rick will be famed in the future as the writer of Doll and Creature!
Dragonberry.com is full of great comics-related links that you may not have seen.
Action Planet Comics The greatest comic-book anthology you never read, presided over by Editor-Publisher Mike Manley. Contributors? Oh, just Bill Wray, Jerry Ordway, Dave Cooper, Phil Hester, Bret Blevins, Ande Parks, Hilary Barta, Kieron Dwyer, etc., etc. Plus it's the home of my own "Wrathbone and Bitchula."
Sofia Vergara Once merely the most telegenic woman in Latin TV, now Sofia's the Stuff of Maxim and the like. ¿Como se dice zaftig en español?
The Verisimilitude My childhood pal writes better and funnier than 95% of the people who do it for a living. See what he does with an account of his boy's Little League game, for instance. Also, check Land o' Links, for such oddities as the site that tells you what words your phone number makes and the personal websites of several other Doug Johnsons!
Fat Chicks in Party Hats A guilty pleasure. It's mean, offensive and, lord help me, hysterically funny. Caution: Sexually explicit ad on page.
The Cliff Guy Just for comics fans: Walt Parrish has an amazing collection of drawings he's commissioned from the top artists (e.g., Bruce Timm, Erik Larsen). The one rule: They have to show a cliff.
Dan Brereton's Nocturnals Dan's sumptuous painted work is unrivaled in comics. He's also the cover artist for Doll and Creature.
Quantum Zone Marvel's superhero Quasar, lately seen in The Avengers, has power galore but prefers to think his way out of a scrape. I drew the last several issues of his comic a few years back. Quasar's number-one fan is Will Allred who has beautifully designed this intriguing and detailed site.
If you enjoy listening to things other than music while you work, try the archives of the excellent radio programs This American Life or Fresh Air Caution: the vexing Real Player, while improved, is still fundamentally incompatible with Photoshop use on a Mac, due to its reliance on virtual memory.
